We are 1.5 miles from city centre and from there we can be reached by largely off-road foot and cycle paths. We are 5 minutes walk from nearest bus stop on Cathedral Road.

We will reopen this site for cycle hire in Summer 2026
Our second, smaller site has seasonal opening hours and offers standard & accessible cycle hire, accessible toilet and community garden.

Our Community Cafe
Our café is at the heart of our Pedal Power community and everyone is welcome to come and sit, relax and meet (and make) friends. A registered Warm Space, it serves teas and coffees, freshly made vegetarian food and delicious locally made cakes. The space is relaxed and fully accessible and you can stay as long as you like with no pressure to purchase.
We also run frequent, inclusive events in our café, most are free of charge, exhibit artwork by local artists and hire out the venue for buffets and special events.

Our Workshop
Our skilled mechanics carry out servicing and repairs on standard and accessible cycles. They also refurbish donated used cycles for onward re-sale, reducing waste and generating much needed income for our charity.
Scheduled servicing & repairs
We gratefully accept donated used cycles!

Support Us
Support us and help change lives for the better
Founded in 1996, our mission remains unchanged to this day – to help people to access and enjoy the many pleasures and benefits of cycling, particularly Disabled people and those furthest removed from these benefits due to age, culture and financial reasons. We do this by removing the barriers to cycling that many people face.
Pedal Power receives no core funding. As well as generating our own income, we rely on support from funding bodies, donors, fundraisers and volunteers to deliver and improve our life changing services
Donate
We spend every penny donated enabling more people to access cycling. You can make a one-off donation or set up 'regular giving'
Fundraise
Do you have an idea to raise money for us or perhaps need some inspiration and support? We'd love to help - speak to us!
Leave us a gift in your Will
Consider leaving a positive and lasting legacy by including a donation to Pedal Power in your Will
Donate in memory
If you're considering ways to celebrate someone's life, please think about giving the gift of cycling to others
Volunteer your time & skills
Make new friends, gain work experience and confidence, help people of all ages and abilities to cycle, and be part of a fantastic team and charity!
What our customers say about us...
Rhys Holmes, Recumbent Trike

This road cycle training was a game changer and really helped me to ditch the car and progress to using my bike to get to work.

"The Tandem group is more fun than I can describe. The people are just lovely! I have to ride a tandem or side-by-side as I'm blind and need a sighted front-rider. I look forward to my cycle ride for the whole fortnight. I have cycled to places I have never been to before. I had never cycled on roads before but have total confidence in the Pedal Power pilots." “We had set criteria, the most important being accessibility for people of different height and experience of cycling, the ability to transport a large volume of a relatively light weight product, maneuverability, delivery in tight urban spaces, and security.”
