The aim of our group is to meet the needs of our members, which can be varied and unique depending on the individual. Some join for the exercise, some used to be avid cyclists but now find it difficult to ride independently, and many come for the social element of cycling together as a group. The tandems have been a great way for us all to get to know each other and build a strong sense of community.

As the group developed, it became clear that participants and volunteers were keen to build confidence riding together in different environments. To support this, we’ve provided our volunteers with on‑road training so we can move safely as a group of tandems and enjoy gentle rides around Cardiff at a relaxed, social pace.
